In May, I posted “Finally…Smart Packaging…” which was about the luncheon meats sold by Hillshire Farms, where you simply peel the label off of the lid, and you have small storage container and that can be used again and again.

This idea (image below) for the beer bottle is really interesting, as the bottle is being transformed into quite a good looking glass. With a bit of thought, it could be a nicely designed every day use glass…(…theme for a good design competition maybe )

I do see major opportunities in this area for manufacturers to design their bottles or plastic containers into reuseable somethings for an after life….
